Counter-Strike 2 server RAM: how much do you need?
There is no persistent world in Counter-Strike, just rounds, so memory holds roughly level whether the server was restarted an hour ago or a month ago.
Recommendation
You need a server with at least
3GB
- Engine / Base OS:
- 2 GB
- Player Overhead:
- +0.5 GB
- Estimated Raw Usage:
- 2.5 GB
- Suggested cores:
- 4
- Disk to allow:
- 40 GB+
Tick rate work is steady and predictable. Latency to players matters more than raw CPU.

What uses the memory in Counter-Strike 2
The map loads once, each player is cheap, and every round reset clears state instead of adding to it. That makes CS2 one of the few games here where your first estimate is also your long-term one — if it fits at launch, it will fit next month.

Where people get it wrong
Buying too much. Competitive servers care far more about CPU and network latency than memory, so beyond a modest allocation extra gigabytes do nothing. Put the money into a low-latency location.
