Why does my port show as closed?
A closed result means players outside your network cannot join. There are three usual culprits. Your ISP may use CGNAT, so you have no real public IP. The port forwarding rule on your router may be wrong — wrong protocol, wrong port or wrong internal address. Or Windows Defender Firewall may be blocking the server program.
How is the server status checked?
We query the address and port you give using the protocol your game actually speaks — the Source Engine Query for Valve-style servers, the standard Minecraft Ping for Minecraft, and so on. When the server replies, you see its name, current map and player count.
