Icarus server RAM: how much do you need?
Icarus caps a session at eight players, but a prospect with a big base and a lot of explored ground can still ask a good deal of the server.
Recommendation
You need a server with at least
8GB
- Engine / Base OS:
- 6 GB
- Player Overhead:
- +2.0 GB
- Estimated Raw Usage:
- 8 GB
- Suggested cores:
- 4
- Disk to allow:
- 20 GB+
Unreal Engine 4. Large bases and wide exploration raise the load more than the eight-player cap suggests.

What uses the memory in Icarus
Memory follows the prospect: the terrain you have uncovered, the structures and machines you have built, and the creatures around them. Player count matters less than how long the prospect has been running and how much has been built on it. These are our estimates; RocketWerkz does not publish a memory figure for the server.

Where people get it wrong
Sizing for a new prospect and forgetting that long-running ones grow. A persistent Open World prospect played for weeks is the heavy case, so size for that if that is what you plan to run.
