How the numbers are worked out
Every generator burns coal and uses water at fixed rates, so once you know how many generators you want, the miners and water extractors follow. The calculator hands you the whole chain — generators, coal supply, water supply — as one answer instead of three puzzles.
The formula
- power = generators × base power × (overclock ÷ 100)
- coal = generators × base coal × (overclock ÷ 100)
- water = generators × base water × (overclock ÷ 100)
- extractors = ceil(water ÷ 120) · miners = ceil(coal ÷ miner output)

Common mistakes
Water is the side people build too little of. Extractors top out at a maximum flow, and pipes have headlift limits over distance, so a design that adds up on paper can still fail because the water physically cannot get there fast enough. Err towards extra water, not extra coal.
